Red River Bank Partners with High Schools on How to Get Smart About Credit
October 2009 - Red River Bank team members have recently taught high school students in Alexandria and Shreveport about credit in conjunction with the national "Get Smart About Credit" Program. This is a national financial literacy program sponsored by the American Bankers Association Education Foundation and is implemented by banks & financial institutions throughout the United States.
"This kind of partnership is needed because high school students enter the "real world" with limited knowledge about credit and budgeting money. Many quickly obtain credit cards and don't know about interest and late fees. They think they can make a minimum payment and don't have to worry, not realizing they are going into debt." said Blake Chatelain, President & CEO of Red River Bank.
