In light of the recent national data breach of Progress Software's MOVEit File Transfer product, we wanted to remind you of some best-practice tips to ensure your confidential information is at low-risk of a cyber-attack.
While Red River Bank uses a MOVEit product, we do not use the MOVEit product with the vulnerability that has led to the breach of customer data at numerous organizations worldwide. To date, there is no indication that any Red River Bank customer data has been compromised.
Follow these steps to protect yourself against fraud:
- Enroll in your Online and Mobile Banking to review account activity.
- Check your monthly bank statements.
- Monitor your credit reports. https://annualcreditreport.com will provide a free credit report for all three major providers on an annual basis.
- Update your passwords, make sure they are strong and unique.
- Never open an email attachment from an unknown sender.
- Always be sure that email addresses are correct, and verify that it is the same address that you have on file for the person.
- Be sure that your network is secure. Are you running the most current Virus Protection and Firewall for your PC and network?
As you may know, the Louisiana Office of Motor Vehicles was impacted by the MOVEit breach. As a result, the State of Louisiana has issued recommendations for Louisianans to protect their identities, which you can access at which you can access at https://nextsteps.la.gov.
